Proposed New House
This project was for the demolition of the existing house on the site and the construction of a new larger, Georgian style detached house.
The brief was very open with the clients' only stipulation that the house should have an open and friendly feel to it.
The main reception hall was lit by a large arched window at first floor above the main entrance with stone columns and steps and provided with a curved staircase with hardwood balustrading and handrail leading right up to the galleried landing at second floor.
The appearance of the house is symmetrical about the square front porch and rounded rear bay, incorporating multi red stock brickwork and stone quoining and brick arches over the windows.
The rear bay includes railings to provide a balcony at first floor accessed from the master bedroom via french doors.
The property enjoys Georgian style sash windows with three small dormer windows to the rear. Bullseye windows are a feature of the four gable ends, to the front and the rear.
